Yes, payment processing is charged separately by your gateway at their standard rates and is not part of your DonorsBase subscription. DonorsBase itself does not add a platform fee on donations. You can let donors optionally cover the processing fee at checkout.
You can enable the "Auto Upgrade" option in your account settings. When your active donor count reaches your plan limit, DonorsBase automatically moves you to the next tier, so your donation forms stay live, your recurring gifts keep processing, and nothing gets interrupted during a peak fundraising season. You can disable this option at any time and manage upgrades manually instead.
