Built by people who spenta decade with nonprofits
DonorsBase comes from a decade spent working with nonprofits. It started when our founders, three siblings and engineers, volunteered to build a website for their church, for free. Other nonprofits started asking for help, and they kept saying yes.
That work eventually grew into Orthoplex Solutions, a technology company now trusted by organizations like CMHA, TFO Canada, SurePoint, and HOPA Ports. But the nonprofit work never stopped, and one problem kept repeating: good organizations were either stuck with outdated systems, or paying real money to platforms that took a cut of every donation they raised.
DonorsBase is what we built to end that.
Our story so far

Founded in Toronto
Three siblings found Orthoplex Solutions in Toronto, after volunteering to build a website for their church, for free.
- 2015–2018
Free websites for nonprofits
Word spreads. Nonprofits keep asking for help, and the team keeps saying yes, building WordPress sites and marketing websites for free, one organization at a time.

Beyond the nonprofit world
Companies outside the nonprofit world start hiring Orthoplex too. The team grows into custom web and mobile applications, enterprise software, and cybersecurity, working with organizations like CMHA, TFO Canada, SurePoint, and HOPA Ports.

Our leaders
Michael, Fady, and Magy founded Orthoplex Solutions together in 2015 and have led it ever since, growing it from free nonprofit websites into a technology company trusted by organizations across sectors. All three are engineers by training, and all three still work directly on DonorsBase today, because the problem it solves is the one they’ve spent a decade watching nonprofits struggle with.

Our philosophy
Charge for the software. Not for the success.
Most donor platforms grow their revenue exactly when a nonprofit does, either by taking a percentage of donations or by adding a tip prompt at checkout. We don’t think that’s fair. A donor gives money to support a mission, not to fund the software company standing between them and it.
DonorsBase charges one flat rate based on the donors an organization manages. Donations are unlimited. Success is never taxed. Nonprofits keep 100% of what they raise, use their own payment gateways at their own rates, and are never asked to add a tip.
